Facilities
The Machine Shop covering 3500m2 offers extensive machining capabilities incorporating a wide range of facilities, including horizontal and vertical boring, planning, shaping, milling, large and small turning.
The following machining sizes apply:
- Turning up to 5486mm diameter x 1892mm length
- Turning up to 3658mm diameter x 12192mm length
- Vertical Boring up to 4877mm x 2743mm
- Planning up to 4877mm long x 1524mm wide x 1524mm high
- Milling up to 4800mm long x 1200mm wide x 1200 high
Serviced by one 15 tonne overhead crane.
Pressing facilities are also present in the form of a 500 tonne and 600 tonne press, used mainly for pressing out shafts under breakdown conditions.
Precision Gears
The shop produces a range of precision cut spurs (up to 4.6m diameter), helical, bevel gears, pinions, worms, and worm wheels.
